Roger's 1901 APBA Replay

1901 Brooklyn Superbas Week 13 is in the books, but it has been an odd set of delays for me in getting there. I had the first half of the week completed, then I got sucked into a work project for a couple of weeks, and then I took a weird week of vacation impacted by pandemic issues, and now finally this week I am getting back into the groove. Eleven weeks to go in the replay … I am kind of targeting to be done by the end of May, but the point of doing a  replay is not to just finish but to play and have some fun doing it. In both leagues, we are continuing to see a split between the haves and the have-nots. Monday, July 8, 1901 As seen on the telegraph: Milwaukee announced that third baseman Jimmy Burke had been released. Reportedly, Burke, who not had played well, had become the focus of the wrath of the local fans. Moreover, his wife had recently been critically ill plus his brother in St. Louis was near death. St. Louis announced that outfielder Patsy Donovan would return to pay following his illness of 06/27/1901. St. Louis also announced that pitcher Farmer Burns had been released to Grand Rapids (Western Association). New York announced that pitcher Ed Doheny had been released following an argument with player-manager George Davis .
